If you haven’t looked into fan controllers before, it may be a right moment to consider buying one.
What are you doing to protect all of that shiny new tech though? Even if you use high-end thermal paste, cooling systems, and case fans, there are additional steps that you can (and should) take to protect your gear. This makes a lot of sense since these mods are amongst the simplest to research and perform yourself. Gamers and tech enthusiasts typically start out by finding and installing the motherboard, CPU, graphics card, RAM, CPU coolers and case fans for their system. It’s exciting to push your PC to the max and see what it can really do when push comes to shove. You want to get as much bang for your buck as you can, and with just a bit of research (and tinkering, of course) you can dramatically improve your computer’s performance. Set the speed you want the fan to run at and the highest temp you want, and as it gets closer to that temp it starts bumping the fans up 100 RPMs at a time. Like slowly ramping the fans up, and the temp control is proportional. The Recon sells for a third the price and does the same things, just better. But once you set it up it does do the job and looks extreamly nice while doing it. and if the temps are floating close to your presets the fans ramp up and down very abruptly, forcing you to put it in manual mode so you don't go nuts. Second the automatic fan speed adjustments are only from your preset speed under your preset temp, above that temp the fan goes 100%. The Touch is a premium fan controller, but not without problems! One the touch screen it stupid sensitive, and impossible to make fine adjustments with your fingers, I have to use a stylus from my old phone to set it up. I got a Lamtron Touch, than Bitfenix released the Recon a few months latter.
