Set the speed you want the fan to run at and the highest temp you want, and as it gets closer to that temp it starts bumping the fans up 100 RPMs at a time. Like slowly ramping the fans up, and the temp control is proportional. The Recon sells for a third the price and does the same things, just better. But once you set it up it does do the job and looks extreamly nice while doing it. and if the temps are floating close to your presets the fans ramp up and down very abruptly, forcing you to put it in manual mode so you don't go nuts. Second the automatic fan speed adjustments are only from your preset speed under your preset temp, above that temp the fan goes 100%. The Touch is a premium fan controller, but not without problems! One the touch screen it stupid sensitive, and impossible to make fine adjustments with your fingers, I have to use a stylus from my old phone to set it up. I got a Lamtron Touch, than Bitfenix released the Recon a few months latter.
